Energizer LallapaloozaEnergizer, Energi To Go Sampling

The Marketing Challenge: Create awareness and trial where little to none existed prior to the engagement.

Pro People Teams Solution: We are going to give this amazing product – an Energi To Go charger – to people when they need it the most – all day events without the luxury of electricity.  Let’s go to Lollapalooza 2009 in Chicago!

How it worked: Pro People Teams took to the long lines of music enthusiasts at Lollapalooza outside Chicago’s Grant Park.  Working in teams, our Brand Ambassadors were able to distribute the chargers and find adaptor tips – there are over 10 offered for different phones – for the masses of people, some even getting out of line for the means to charge their phone.  With Facebook, Twitter and all the texting that we witnessed, it’s a good thing Energizer was there to keep the cell phones charged and the communication lines open.

The Pro People Teams Moment: Customer comment “You just saved my life- seriously- saved my life.”  Each team member was swarmed during the busy times.  People stood and waited to be able to receive the charger and then waited until an adaptor tip was found.  It was great that so many were seeing the value!

“We were overwhelmed with the number of Energizer Energi To Go chargers distributed at the 2009 Lollapalooza.  We have sampled our cell phone chargers at concerts before, but the quantities from this event were amazing!  What makes it even more amazing is considering that it rained half of the weekend!” - Energizer Brand Manager

Foodlion Team Aug. 9th and 13th 032Ames, Scullin, O’Haire - Food Lion Grand Openings

Marketing Challenge: Create awareness of local Food Lion locations for either Grand Openings or Grand Re-Openings in the communities surrounding the Food Lion locations.

Pro People Teams Solution: Provide outgoing, engaging Brand Ambassadors to spread the gospel of the Food Lion, hand out premiums, and become true Food Lion Ambassadors.

How It Worked: From sign holding to holding umbrellas, the PPT Food Lion Brand Ambassadors did whatever it took to spread the word about Food Lion.  Our Brand Ambassadors interacted with consumers where they live, work, play, shop, go to school, and go to church.  The highly energetic teams handed out mystery gift cards, premiums, and reusable Food Lion shopping bags to consumers on college campuses, Food Lion parking lots, church parking lots and busy downtown locations in the Southeast.

The Pro People Teams Moment: The first Food Lion Grand Opening we activated was for energetic sign holders to draw attention to the new store. During the four days our team was working, it rained everyday.  Instead of going home (or sending the Team home), the Team asked the Store Manager how they could help…be an extension of their team…our BA’s worked inside the store and assisted people with their groceries and walked customers to their cars with umbrellas.  The extra touch.

“We couldn’t be happier with the quality and enthusiasm of the Street Team members that Pro People Teams has provided. They have done an excellent job of helping us introduce Food Lion to a new market.” - Food Lion

Bruggie and kidsBruegger’s Summer Street Team

The Marketing Challenge: Reinforce Bruegger’s position as a friendly neighbor, inspire trial and ultimately drive traffic to the bakeries.

Pro People Teams Solution: Taking it to the streets!  Let’s be honest, who picks the restaurant for the family?  Mom’s do!  We sent two local street team members stocked with amazing coupons, water bottles, Brueggie beanies and Rocket Packs of coffee during the morning commute, and more to farmers markets, parks, little league games and literally, the streets to target families, business people and moms!  We also used this opportunity to reward those sung and unsung heroes in Bruegger’s Bakery communities—police and fire, libraries and non-profits of all kinds.

How It Worked: Streets have cars and Bruegger’s has a branded PT Cruiser that we drove to all of our events.  We interrupted people as they were on their way to work, home and play to say, “Have a Bruegger’s bagel and cream cheese on us and enjoy this sample of Bruegger’s coffee.”  “What, uh, you’re giving me this?” was the response heard most often in the three test markets.  Samples of cookies, Bruegger’s Bagel Balloons and of course, the amazing coupon deals were distributed where people live.  15 to 24 Neighborhood Heroes were chosen by the bakeries every week!  The press even caught on to our gig and started recognizing our Heroes in the local paper!

Results: Increase in customers, coupon redemption and, we were in the media!

The Pro People Teams Moment: The biggest moment is definitely the smiles of appreciation from all of the Neighborhood Heroes.  We made their day by saying thank you to them.  We have received many cards, notes and pictures from the Heroes thanking us in return.

“The Street Team did a great job at the event for Pleasant Hills community day on Saturday. My GM heard great things about this (from guests).” - Bruegger’s Area Manager
